Meet Our Family & Staff
Charlie and Sally Blake, Owners
Charlie is the heart and soul of Blake’s. He has been a part of the business almost since he was born and has run Blake’s for the past 36 years. Among many things, Charlie is the head chef and oversees all kitchen operations. He is obsessed with maintaining the highest nutrition standards in the industry – regardless of the product. He is forever experimenting with recipes from his grandmother’s collection of homemade favorites. When Charlie isn’t at the farm he is usually found on the golf course or traveling with Sally.
Charlie’s Favorite Meal: Blake’s Macaroni & Beef
Sally began at Blake’s in 1970 shortly after marrying Charlie. Since that time, Sally has served as the financial conscience of the company, managing our financial strategy, personnel, purchasing, and retailer relationships. When she’s not at the office, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.

Chris Licata, President
Chris has been at Blake’s since June 2006 when he made the decision to leave a successful 19-year career as an executive in the ski industry. The decision was easy because Charlie shared Chris’s vision to take the company into the organic market and position Blake’s as a leading New England-based natural and organic food company. Chris’s overall focus is on brand strategy, new business development, sales, marketing and financial strategy. If Chris isn’t at his desk, he’s snowboarding, surfing or cycling, and most likely has wife, Amy, and twin daughters, Blake and Lucy, with him doing the same thing.

Amy Blake Licata, Corporate Conscience
Amy grew up watching her mom and dad (Charlie and Sally) run Blake’s with a purity of intention and an honor that has become increasingly elusive in today’s competitive business environment. Quality always came first at Blake’s and everyone was greeted with a firm handshake and a warm smile. Amy’s role is to make sure we are relentless in protecting the values that have made Blake’s authentic for the past 75 years.

Blake & Lucy Licata
Blake and Lucy are the inspirations behind Blake’s Organic and Natural Meals. After they were born in 2003 their parents (Chris and Amy) quickly became students of the natural and organic food movement and never looked back. The girls eat almost exclusively organic food and this is what drove us to create a line of organic products. They earn their keep at Blake’s by riding their bikes around the parking lot to entertain the employees during breaks.

Kathy Hicks, Plant Operations Manager
Kathy oversees our production and makes sure that our customers can get what they want, when they want it. Aside from managing plant operations, she is preparing and planning for our rapidly expanding line. When she’s not in the plant she enjoys spending time with her family, experimenting with her own recipes and attending her children’s sporting events and functions.

Karl Serzans, Head Chef
Karl is our head chef and makes sure that all of our meals taste as good as Charlie originally intended. Karl puts more than 15 years of restaurant experience to use at Blake’s and ensures that all Blake’s meals are of the highest quality. Karl is an avid sportsman, mountain biker, snowboarder and guitarist.

Beverly Robertson, Production Team Leader
Beverly has been at Blake’s for 34 years, and has seen and done it all. She oversees the kitchen staff and ensures that our production is always on track. When Beverly isn’t in kitchen, she’s usually hiking or snowshoeing somewhere in the White Mountains.
